State of Downtown Raleigh 2015

Did you know that downtown Raleigh's population has more than doubled in the last 15 years? It is also poised to increase over 40% with the new supply of apartments and condos being completed.

The State of Downtown Raleigh 2015 provides a comprehensive market analysis of Raleigh's Central Business District (CBD) for the purpose of informing and exploring new partnerships with the investor and real estate community. This is the premier event for developers, brokers and economic developers whose clients would benefit from learning more about Raleigh's CBD.

The event will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center and is sponsored by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance. Tickets are $15 for members and $25 for non-members.

Speakers include Deco's Pam Blondin. For more information about the event, to see the full speaker panel or to register to attend, see YouRHere.com and click "State of Downtown" in the lower right.

For your last-minute shopping pleasure, we'll have 10% off all day before we close a bit early. Yup, we’re giving you a few hours to wrap it up (hah, get it?). On the twenty-first day of wishes...

Are you running around trying to get it all done? Or are you the cool cucumber that's got it all wrapped up (literally) already?

Either way, take minute to focus on you--whether it's to take a breath or to pat yourself on the back. It's Selfie Sunday! (Or should we say #selfiesunday ?) The holidays are filled with giving, but we say it's okay to look forward to treating yo'self, too. Take a DECO selfie (or just a snap of something on your lust list) and tag us (@decoraleigh) on your social media of choice. Let us know and you'll get a coupon good for January and February 2015, and you can look forward to doing a bit of self-gifting.

We’ve helped Saving Grace raise funds in the past, but our owner recently adopted a 7-year old beagle from them. This place loves their furry charges and we want to see them thrive. In honor of Lucy the beagle and all the dogs we couldn’t take home, we’ll donate 5% of today’s sales to Saving Grace. And if you’re lucky, you might meet Lucy at the store!

Saving Grace is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless animals in our community find permanent, loving homes where they will be treated as family members for the rest of their lives. Find out more at savinggracenc.org.

This week's bluegrass festivities for Wide Open Bluegrass and IBMA converge with the first installation for the raleigh [   ] space parklet!

Each year, International Focus, Inc. celebrates and shares world culture through the International Festival. The 3-day festival offers many activities and opportunities for children to experience and appreciate many different cultures of the world here in our own community of Raleigh. In addition to face-painting, storytelling, and games, children are able to travel through and learn about different cultures as part of the passport scavenger hunt. Other activities include sidewalk cafes, performances, music, and delicious, authentic food.

International Focus, with the support of our community partners, strives to make this opportunity a reality for many children who may not have access to the resources needed to attend the festival.

In bringing our community this event, your participation and contributions will go towards funding our local disadvantaged youth, with complete admission (including food vouchers, transportation and supervision for each child).

Festivities start at 6pm, all ages, families welcome.
